A relaxed, cabaret-style evening with special musical guests, a good dose of humour and an obscure musical quiz to keep you on your toes. While the content varies, The Velvet Violin delivers quality musicianship and a night to remember.

The Velvet Violin Cabaret evenings began in 2014 straight after the first Full Circle Festival at Castle Ring. This one day festival’s location was not advertised so to get to it you had to take a Magical Mystery bus from the bypass in Presteigne. It featured a stunning line up of our favourite musicians including Company of Fools, Cloudier Skies, Little Rumba, Loon, Remi Harris Trio, Your Dad, The Black Rapids, Lori Campbell, the The Destroyers, My Baby and Moishes Bagel.  There were also street performers all around the site. The Velvet Violin was born soon after and was an attempt to bring that same atmosphere to The Assembly Rooms on a regular basis. The name was stolen, surprisingly, from a sleazy London Club, which was featured in Downton Abbey Episode Eight of Series Five.
