Assembly Rooms: Taradiddle

TARADIDDLE

Sunday 31st August, 7:30pm. Bar/doors 7:00pm

The Assembly Rooms, Presteigne

Taradiddle is a vocal-driven acoustic trio with a smile-generating transatlantic folk repertoire.

'A perfect balance of international, traditional and contemporary songs sung with intelligent, skilful ease and a blend of voices made in heaven. Taradiddle are a delight!' - Rick Kemp, Steeleye Span.

Don't miss them on this rare UK tour.

Stephen Ferron is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Institute of Musicology at the University of Bern with a research focus on the changing role of the session musician - one he is familiar with, having a history as guitarist, bassist, and harmony vocalist ('sideman') with many artists in North America and Europe. He has also produced numerous recording sessions for albums, TV and radio soundtracks and commercials.

Franz Andres Morrissey is a linguist by training, a teacher by profession and a musician by choice. His current interests include the sociolinguistics of (folk) song performance and the phonology of rock. He also teaches creative writing, and is strongly in favour of peace, love and siblinghood.

Monika Brändli completes the trio. She's always wanted to communicate to others the joy and emotion that music has given her, and of her many musical adventures one of the most rewarding was as half of Andy & Mo, a duo that recorded and performed original pop music in Swiss German for kids. With Taradiddle, her musical aim is what it’s always been: to bring a bit of joy and harmony to the world.
